Ingredients:
Serves: 4
pita bread
4 cups of shredded cheese. I suggest mozzarella
2 breasts of chicken or steak cut into strips
garlic salt
cabbage or pre cut cabbage bag
red onion
banana peppers
Tzatziki Sauce:
2 cups of whole plain greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1 finely grated cucumber
2 tablespoons of chopped dill
Salad:
Lettuce of choice
Extra cucumber
Bacon or bacon crumbles
Instructions:
Tzatziki Sauce:
For best results make Tzatziki Sauce the night before or several hours before using.
In a medium bowl combine yogurt, lemon juice, oil, salt, and smashed garlic.
Just before using, shred cucumber and place it on paper towels or cheesecloth. Squeeze all the water out and add to your sauce.
Chop the dill and add to your sauce.
Stir everything together before using.
Pita:
Cut chicken or steak into strips and add to hot oiled skillet. Add garlic salt, butter and smashed garlic for added flavor.
Cook as desired.
Cut red onion into strips.
Slice cabbage into tiny strips.
Cut pita bread in half and open the pocket. Fill with chicken or steak, tzatziki sauce, onion, banana peppers, shredded cheese and cabbage.
Salad:
To make this into a delicious salad, cut up your greens, add chicken, cucumber, banana peppers, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, cabbage and tzatziki sauce! Enjoy!
